I have my Holi
stic Health Coaching certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and am a member of the International Association for Health Coaches (IAHC). I am also a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), and current Transition Coach for the non-profit, Athletes Soul. I was a competitive athlete for 15 years, finishing my basketball career at NCAA Division II Saint Martin’s University in 2011. I realized upon “retiring” from my sport that I didn’t know how to eat or exercise when it wasn’t for competition. Not only that, but I also struggled with my career choice and identity after concluding a sport that was, for more than 15 years, my primary life focus.
How do you adjust to a new lifestyle when being a basketball player, football player, swimmer, runner, etc., is no longer your identity? How do you eat? How do you exercise when you don’t have to be in peak physical condition at all times? How do you become comfortable in a changing body? After following my own path to balanced health and finding myself, I realized I wanted to help other athletes through this transition.
I’ve now coached 1000s of clients over the course of eight years – from current competing athletes who need help fueling for performance to those who are retired and trying to find balance with nutrition. For more information on preparing/coping with this transition, check out my book The Athlete After: A 10-Week Guide to Balancing Life After Sports. I also offer one-on-one coaching through Athletes Soul. You can also visit my calendar to schedule a free consultation.
